Jane Hewlett

Jane is the Principal Psychologist and founder of Psychological Wellness. She has worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, and with a variety of presenting problems for the last 20 years. She has received specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Ego State therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy and enjoys the challenge of tailoring strategies to meet specific needs, and thereby maximise therapeutic efficiency and reduce relapse for her clients.

Over the course of her career, Jane has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom, in both private and public facilities, including community crisis intervention teams, community mental health teams, family counselling centres, pain management clinics and private practice. Jane has worked with children and adults of various ages and presenting problems including: anxiety and mood disorders, complex trauma, chronic pain, anger, parenting challenges, addictions and self esteem counselling.  Her specific areas of interest include complex trauma, child mental health, where she has gained significant experience. She also enjoys working with injured clients, where she has gained considerable experience in understanding the impact of physical health problems on psychological well-being and has written pain management programs to help these clients.

Jane has Bachelor of Psychology and has completed Post Graduate studies in Child and Adolescent Psychology. She is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, Medicare registered and is a Work Cover Health Care Provider. She is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi) and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA)
